Shimmy is a peer to peer lending site that is designed to match lenders in the community with renters.
Seems simple right, but what exactly do we do, and what does it cost?
1) CREATE AN ACCOUNT
We ask our lenders to create an account. You can do this by clicking here. To do this we need some information from you, such as your name, what you would like to be called on our site and a description about you and your products. Remember renters could also be looking for some advice or someone to bounce ideas off. Shimmy is a great place for sharing not only objects 🙂
2) UPLOAD YOUR PRODUCTS
Choose your price, availability and whether you want to offer delivery. We do have features lined up such as inhouse delivery and a price calculator to help streamline these but for now you are the master of your own fate. For price, think about your target audience, and for delivery, think about your location and where your customers may be.
3) MATCH WITH CUSTOMERS
Check your emails to make sure you are available to customers and can confirm rental requests. Make sure to take a copy of ID and take photos of the rental before it is picked up and dropped off.
4) GET PAID
Our payment goes through paypal. We keep 10% from our renters to cover advertising, our website features and compensation in case of theft or damage. The rest, goes straight to you! Just withdraw it from your account once the rental has gone through!
5) WRITE A REVIEW
We encourage both sides to write a review about your experiences so that future lenders and renters can make more informed decisions.
6) WRITE A TESTIMONIAL
